bullyfrog

1) A nickname; possibly an early example of bull-frog.

I find no dictionary references to this word which occurred as a by-name in the early fourteenth century, almost certainly a nickname: 1333 Matilda Bullyfrogge, Horbury. The OED has bullyhead as an alternative for bull-head, the freshwater fish, so the name may be an early example of bull-frog.
