1698 found severall coppins of woollen yarne lapt upp in a cote, Haworth. It probably explains the Mirfield place-name Coppin Hall, similar therefore to Bracken Hall, Gosling Hall, Moldwarp Hall and other names of that type in the Huddersfield area. See Laverock Hall.
