In Yorkshire ‘corner’ on its own eventually had the same meaning: 1688 Caurner stones in at the bargaine, Conistone

1719 for 10 loads corners and 1 load corballs, Horton

1786 I went with him to the Stone Pit … there will be wallstone and paving but no cutting stuff and no Corners, Slaithwaite. Some corners were made of brick: 1446-7 ‘for 40 cornertele purchased’, Selby.
