1759 Whatt trades are rogeish … Shoemakers that cuts horse and dog leather and fits heels up with shavins of leather, Wakefield. One exception to that applied to apprentices in Beverley, who in 1596 were allowed dogge skynnes & sheepe skynnes for ther apperell only.
