It is commented on by Arthur Raistrick in Old Yorkshire Dales who said that the term occurs in deeds and conveyances, but gave no examples. Angus Winchester has information on ‘head-dyke’ and similar terms in The Harvest of the Hills. Headwall Green is the name of a locality near Huddersfield.
