kelsetnayles

1) Nails used at Hull when the south ferry boat was repaired.

1464-5 ‘And paid for various sharplings and seventy kelsetnayles used there, 20˝d’. The meaning is obscure but perhaps the nails had been made at Kelsit Grange in the parish of Sutton on the Forest. See thornhill nails.
