1) A regional version of 'topple-tail', a somersault, used by Adam Eyre to describe a riding accident.

1647 I received a very dangerous fall from my meare, shee topstayleing over mee, Thurlstone. The expression ‘tipply-tails’ survives for rolling head over heels downhill.
