1586 John Appleyarde, a corslet. It was evidently considered to be a valuable item and was the subject of an agreement later when John Appleyard passed it on to his son George: 1591 and George shall pay such subsidies and ... beare the charges of one corslette which the said John standeth charged withal, Dalton. In a reference from 1637 John Bedford of Crownest in Dewsbury bequeathed to his son Robert one corslet with the pike thereto belonging.
